Let us take you on a little trip down memory lane… Hunter Street is located at the mouth of the Hunter River, Newcastle. Newcastle is the predominant city within the Hunter Region. Hunter Street is named after the second Governor of New South Wales, John Hunter.
From the rich history in every brick building dating back near 1800’s to the beautiful culture around every corner, some still telling a story of the vibrant past while all serving a different purpose in later years and present. Over the years, independent art galleries and boutique retailers (just to mention a couple) have added to the historical Hunter Street.
Before the electric trams came; the horse-drawn carriages and steam trams were what transported you up to your local stores.
