5 Ways to wear Sweaters
Most of us are reaching for our sweaters, not only because of winter but also because we have had to stay around the house a lot more and are enjoying home comforts. We often associate a sweater with being sloppy and relaxed, but today we challenge you to try and wear a sweater in a different way which will hopefully make you feel way more stylish.
Put the trackies and active-wear aside and give these a go!
- Look (1) – Pair your sweater with a pencil skirt and tuck it in. Not the full tuck as we do not want unnecessary bulk around our midriffs. Try the half tuck, the side tuck or even tie it on the side or use a large safety pin and pull excess fabric to one side, if you’re brave enough.
- Look (2) – Purchase an over-sized sweater and wear it with some black thigh high boots. Don’t be afraid, these no longer have the provocative connotation they used to have. The trick here is to make sure the gap between the sweater and boot is not too great, thus not showing a large amount of thigh flesh. This look will compliment an apple or rectangular body shape best. Belt this in the waist for more definition if you are a pear shape.
- Look (3) – Layer up your sweater with a button up shirt, long cardigan or coat and some trendy pleather leggings. Add some layered necklaces, possibly a felt hat and a pair of booties and you’re good to go.
- Look (4) – Wear your sweater over your fave dress, pair with some tights and a belt on your waist if you’re are a pear or hourglass shape or even rectangular. This will give you a womanly shape and help correcting proportion errors.
- Look (5) – Add a denim or leather jacket over your sweater, this immediately adds a unique and more stylish dynamic to your outfit. Pair this with a midi skirt or dress. Add a longer button up shirt with leggings to offer different lengths, this adds interest.
All of these styles can be found via our online boutique and in-store at our Hunter Street Newcastle boutique.
